PIECES OF APRIL
Pieces of April debuted at Sundance Filmfestival in 2003. It is written and directed by Peter Hedges and cast includes names like Katie Holmes, Patricia Clarkson, Derek Luke and Sean Hayes. It is a story of Thanksgiving celebration of a dysfunctional family. April Burns (Katie Holmes) is the eldest daughter, who invites the rest of the family to celebrate Thanksgiving at her small apartment. The story follows her attempts to make this meal happen although she finds out that her oven is broken, the efforts of her boyfriend Bobby (Derek Luke) in trying to find a suit to look good in front of April's relatives and the family's journey from suburbia to New York City.
